One of the easiest perks on the UK Amex Gold card is the Deliveroo benefit. For more information, you can see my review. As of April 6, 2026, Amex says Gold cardholders can get £5 back on an eligible Deliveroo transaction, up to twice per calendar month – so up to £120 back per year – but you need to enrol first.
Using it is simple in theory: go into the Amex app, find the Deliveroo benefit from Offers, save it to your card, then pay with that enrolled card when you place your order. Amex’s Offers terms say you need to save the offer before spending, and offers are tied to the specific card they’re saved to.
If you can’t see the Deliveroo benefit, wait for a couple of days and try again.

The detail I found the hard way is this: my supplementary card did not trigger the Deliveroo benefit, so I’d strongly suggest treating this as a main-card payment only perk to be safe. That matches the general Amex rule that offers are card-specific rather than transferable between cards.
A few things worth keeping in mind:
- it works by calendar month, not a rolling 30-day window
- each credit is based on an eligible £5 Deliveroo transaction, so to fully use the monthly allowance you’d normally need two qualifying orders
- the statement credit may not appear instantly; Amex says credits usually show within 30 days
- refunds or cancelled transactions can reverse the credit.
It’s also worth noting this is for Deliveroo orders broadly, and Amex’s benefit page mentions both takeaways and groceries, so it can be useful even beyond restaurant orders.
Overall, it’s a genuinely useful Amex Gold perk if you already use Deliveroo anyway. Just make sure you enrol first and pay with the main Gold card, because that small detail can be the difference between getting the credit and missing it.
